Our Approach to AI in the Humanities and Sciences

At the College of Humanities and Sciences, we foster interdisciplinary collaboration that shapes how AI is studied, questioned, and applied. We are leading the conversation in AI across the humanities and sciences. We balance critical inquiry with applied practice to guide thoughtful outcomes. Our collective work centers human experience, ethical responsibility, and the broader societal impact of AI. We advance how AI is understood, evaluated, and applied in teaching, learning, and research. Our resources provide guidance that supports teaching, learning, and the future work of our students. Our efforts are helping students build critical and applied AI literacy.

Join the CHS AI Faculty Interest Group

A new venture by CHS launches in the fall as an informal space for faculty (and interested colleagues) to explore how AI is shaping research, teaching, and practice. Think of it as a collaborative AI “club” focused on conversation and real-world application.

Starting Fall 2026, we’ll meet monthly for one hour to discuss tools, share experiences, and occasionally demo AI workflows and emerging developments. Sessions are flexible and participant-driven.

Join to get updates, suggest topics, and help shape the group.
