For the past three years, Daniel Morales and Gabriella Leon-Perez have been collecting the stories of immigrant and US-born Latinos who live across the Commonwealth as part of our Latino Virginia Oral History Project. As of today, they have collected 156 oral histories, most of which were conducted by CHS undergraduates as part of their research training. With participants' permission, many of these stories will be published in the Latino Virginia bilingual digital archive and they will be freely accessible to the public. The archive will be going live soon and they will be celebrating this milestone with two events in the fall semester.

Our first event will be a community celebration and it will take place on Wednesday, September 16th at the Sacred Heart Center. There will be members of the Latino community of Richmond alongside the interviewees, collaborators, and community members who made this project possible. The event will be held in Spanish, reflecting the language of our audience and the heart of the project itself.

Doors will open at 5pm and the event will start at 6pm.
