Join the VCU School of Life Sciences and Sustainability (SLSS) for our annual Research Day—a dynamic showcase of student scholarship, discovery, and innovation across the life sciences.

This event is a unique opportunity for alumni and guests to return to campus, reconnect with the SLSS community, and experience firsthand the impactful research being conducted by today’s students.

Event Schedule

Undergraduate Poster Sessions
🕙 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
📍 Commonwealth Ballroom, Student Commons
Explore over 100 undergraduate research projects and engage directly with student presenters.

Graduate Micro-Presentations + Alumni Keynote
🕓 4 – 6 p.m.
📍 STEM Building, Room 112
Hear fast-paced research presentations from graduate students, followed by a featured alumni keynote speaker.

Alumni Reception
🕕 6 – 7 p.m.
📍 STEM Building
Alumni of Biology, Bioinformatics, and Environmental Studies are especially invited to join us for a dedicated reception. Enjoy light refreshments while reconnecting with faculty, fellow alumni, and current students.

Call for Student Presenters

We welcome applications from current VCU undergraduate students who are conducting research related to the life sciences and sustainability topics, regardless of major. 

Students interested in presenting a poster must submit their intent to present by 5 P.M. on Monday, April 10, 2026. 

At the time of submission, students only need to provide:

• A poster title
• A full author list
