Dear alums and friends,

We are a little more than halfway through the fall semester. Many of us have found joy in seeing more students in person, and students have shown their desire to engage in person, with strong attendance in classrooms and at welcome-back events. As we look ahead, we will continue to support students who are making progress to graduation.

At the same time, we pledge to find ways to help students, who, in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, did not return to VCU this fall. We are so grateful to our alumni and friends who contributed to student relief funds this past academic year. Because of your generosity, the College awarded $72,348.36 in retention aid, keeping 68 of our students in school and helping them move one semester closer to graduation. It’s a remarkable show of support for their commitment to finish. We thank you.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Malat, Ph.D.
Dean
