Mimi Winick, Ph.D., researches gender and sexuality, popular fiction, religion and the history of scholarship in nineteenth- and twentieth-century British literature. She teaches courses on literature, science and religion; literature and critical theory; and women writers.

Before joining VCU as an instructor, she was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of English and worked as an instructor of graduate writing at Rutgers University in New Jersey.

She earned her doctorate from Rutgers in 2016.

Her essays have appeared in journals such as Modernism/modernity, Nineteenth-Century Gender Studies and Nineteenth-Century Literature. She is at work on a history of early feminist inquiry as a spiritual practice in Britain from 1890 to 1930.
